Tech It Out:
Math is Everywhere Session
July 8 - 12, 2019
Math and Tessellations:
Students will use geometric transformations to create a tessellation.
Math and Games:
Students will learn how to strategize and learn the math behind it.
Games including but not limited to: Mancala, Native American Stick Game, and the 24 Game Tournament
Students will learn the engineering design process. They will learn about the mechanics of bridges and the mechanics of flight.
They will build and test bridges and airplanes.
Math and History:
Students will “Build Like Banneker” – They will design and construct a model clock, telescope, a garden container or another original apparatus inspired by Benjamin Banneker using cardboard.
Students will learn about "Women Who Count: Honoring African American Women Mathematicians".
Camp Highlights
Each day we will post our highlights of the day. Each student will choose "their best activity" to post.
